Kids Crafts

The Crafter’s Library is the perfect space for grown-ups and their children to explore crafting together! We offer a variety of crafting experiences for children of all ages, including twice-monthly drop-in craft hours, craft kits, summer camps, our kids craft bar, birthday parties, and day passes to utilize the space, our supplies, and our staff to help you with your projects.

Kids Craft Hour

What: Kids Craft Hour is a drop-in style event located in the heart of The Crafter’s Library. Crafters starting as young as 4 years old can join Devon Christman (Master Maker and Ph.D. in Childhood Education) and other young crafters as they participate in a semi-structured crafting time.

When: Twice at month from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM in The Crafter’s Library. This is a drop-in style event. Participants can join any time before 12:00 PM.

Cost: $20 for one child, $10 for each additional child in your party.

How to register: Register through our craft class calendar. Registration is recommended but not required.

Summer Craft Camp

Registration open now!

Our Summer Craft Camp is a one-week long deep dive into sewing, painting, and fiber arts for crafters aged 8 years old and older. Choose from one of seven weeks of camp starting June 23, 2025 going through the week of August 11, 2025.

Camp runs from 9:30 AM — 3:00 PM Monday — Friday.

Transportation and lunch not provided.

Day Passes — $20

Day passes can be purchased by caregivers for their children. Day passes are valid for one full day of operation on the day purchased.

One $20 day pass covers the price of admission for one adult and two children 7 years old and younger. Children 8+ years old require their own day pass.

All children 11 years old and younger must have an adult accompanying them at all times in the store. Children 12 and older can utilize The Crafter’s Library without adult supervision.

We are thrilled to be able to host private events in our space! Let us be your next birthday party destination. All birthday parties include one craft of your choice. Food, drinks, decorations, and music can be added to your birthday experience. Choose from any of the following crafts:

Kids Craft Bar Menu

Are you feeling creative but you’re not sure what to do? Did you miss a Kids Craft Hour and really want to make that week’s craft? Try one of our Kids Craft Bar activities!

The Kid’s Craft Bar is a “menu’ of crafty activities you can choose from to do in The Crafter’s Library. These crafts are designed to be a quick and fun way to get your creative juices flowing. All Craft Bar items are suitable for crafters as young as 4 years old.

When you come into the store, ask a staff member for one of the following Craft Bar items. Our staff will get you set up with all the supplies and instructions you need.

Bubble Painting

Make colorful abstract art by painting with bubbles! This is a messy craft recommended for crafters of all ages. Combine soap, paint, and blowing bubbles for an unforgettable and easy creative experience. Don’t worry about the mess. The Crafter’s Library staff are here to help you clean you. All you need to do is have fun!

Cupcake Liner Fish

Gut, glue, and layer cupcake liners to create beautiful scales on a fish. These fish make wonderful room decorations and are fun to pair with under-the-sea books and movies! Make a copy of your favorite fish, or create a new species using your imagination!

Leaf Wreath

This craft is a meditative experience that combines nature, color, and the power of glue sticks! Neatly arrange pre-cut paper leaves and flowers in a circle, then glue down your final masterpiece. This craft is the perfect seasonal decoration to hang in your home or use as a place setting under plates for your fall harvest celebrations.

Washable Marker Watercolor Art

Combine drawing and painting by using washable markers as watercolor paints. This is a low-mess alternative to traditional painting that helps young artists create vibrant works of art. Draw a design with permanent markers to paint in, or paint first and draw on your designs at the end!
